Privacy policy

The short version: HushTask is a reading site. We don't ask you to sign in, we don't sell data, and we don't run ad networks that follow you around the web. We keep light, mostly anonymous analytics to see which pages get read, and affiliate links set a cookie when you click them so the merchant can credit the referral. That's the whole story. What we collect

Two things, and neither requires you to tell us who you are.

Analytics. Like almost any site, we want to know which pages people actually read and roughly where readers come from. That means aggregate, privacy-respecting analytics — page views, referring site, broad region, the kind of device. We aren't building a profile of you, and we don't try to identify individual readers from it. Standard server logs (your IP address, the page requested, a timestamp) are also recorded by the hosting layer for security and reliability, and rotated out over time.

Affiliate referrals. Some tool profiles link to a vendor through an affiliate program. When you click one, the program typically drops a cookie so that if you sign up, the referral is credited to HushTask and we earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. That cookie is set and read by the affiliate network or the vendor, under their privacy terms, not ours. We don't see your account, your card, or what you paid. We just see that a referral happened.

Cookies, plainly

• Analytics cookies (or cookieless equivalents) help us count reads. They don't identify you by name.
• Affiliate cookies are set only when you click an affiliate link, and only by that merchant's program. Don't want them? Don't click the link — the comparison and the assessment read exactly the same either way, since nothing on the page depends on you clicking.
• Your browser can block or clear cookies whenever you like, and most offer a "do not track" or anti-tracking setting we won't fight.

What we never do

• Sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Full stop.
• Run third-party display-ad networks that track you across the web.
• Require an account, a login, or an email to read anything here.
• Send you marketing email — we don't collect addresses to begin with.

Third parties in the mix

A few outside services touch your visit: the host that serves the pages, an analytics provider, a web-font provider, and the affiliate networks behind any link you choose to click. Each handles data under its own policy. We keep this list short on purpose — fewer third parties, fewer places your visit gets logged.

Your choices

You can browse with cookies off, use private/incognito mode, or run an anti-tracking extension; nothing here breaks if you do. If you're in a region with data-access or deletion rights and believe we hold something about you, get in touch and we'll handle it — though for most readers there simply isn't a personal record to retrieve, because we never asked you for one.

Changes to this policy

If how we handle data changes, this page changes with it, and the "last updated" date above moves. Material changes will be obvious here rather than buried.
